A star receiver is getting a big pay day to stay in the Big Apple.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson has agreed to a four-year, $130 million extension with the New York Jets, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.
The deal includes $90 million guaranteed and will keep the former first-round pick in New York for the next six seasons. He is slated to earn $32.5 million per season, the fifth highest for any wide receiver.
Wilson, 24, has reached at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his three seasons in the NFL. He was also named the 2022 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Despite playing with seven different quarterbacks in his career, Wilson has already recorded 14 touchdowns and 3,249 yards on 279 receptions.
He’ll aim to build a new connection with quarterback Justin Fields, whom the Jets signed to a two-year, $40 million contract in March.
