Former NFL player Teddy Bridgewater is making the rounds for all the wrong reasons.
He was recently suspended from his position as a high school head coach because he was giving his players what was considered to be ‘impermissible benefits.’
Those so-called benefits were free food, gear, and traveling expenses.
That’s why former NFL player Louis Riddick took to social media to complain about this incomprehensible situation:
“This Teddy Bridgewater suspension for doing RIGHT by his football players and propping up the program with his own money is simply embarrassing. When I read everything he was providing for these young men, I’m thinking “Is he going to get some kind of reward? Recognition ?” Come on man…this is just dumb,” he wrote.

It all started when Bridgewater asked other people to help him cover all the expenses, which were coming out of his pocket.
Of course, this is against the rules, which are pretty clear, so, as unfair as it may be, Bridgewater is technically right to be suspended.
Bridgewater decided to stay close to the game after retiring early.
He had a promising career and was projected to be one of the biggest names in the game when he first entered the league, but a gruesome injury derailed his career.
He still loved football, and he wanted to give back and make sure that young players also had an opportunity to grow on and off the field.
It’ll be interesting to see how this situation turns out, but it will continue to raise plenty of strong opinions on social media in the meantime.
