The Dallas Cowboys are getting ready to start a new era.
With Mike McCarthy no longer in the premises, new head coach Brian Schottenheimer will look to instill his style into the offense.
New offensive coordinator Klayton Adams will also have plenty to say on this, and Deuce Vaughn believes that’s for the best.
Talking on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” show, the Cowboys’ running back gushed about the new-look offense.
“[Brian Schottenheimer] will have his mark, Coach [Klayton] Adams will have his mark on the scheme. I’m excited about it. Won’t say too much, but I’m really, really excited for it. These OTAs and minicamp processes were really fun. It was really good to dive into the playbook and I’m excited to hop into it and get ready for camp,” Vaughn said.
Sounds like a scheme change is a-comin’ in Dallas.

Unfortunately for him, he may not get as many opportunities to do his thing out of the backfield.
The Cowboys addressed their major issues at running back by adding a strong duo in Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, leaving Vaughn far behind in the pecking order.
This team’s offense has looked much better when they’ve committed to the run.
Dak Prescott does better when the running game does most of the heavy lifting, and putting the ball in his hands with the game on the line has rarely gone well for this organization.
Schottenheimer should be well aware of that since he called the shots on the offense last season, and he saw it operate better after Prescott fell with an injury and was replaced by Cooper Rush.
Now, with Joe Milton III also in the mix and looking to make a name for himself, Prescott will be under more pressure than ever.
It’s been a while since the Cowboys looked like a serious Super Bowl contender, and it’ll be interesting to see how they fare with a new boss in town.
