NRL news 2025 | Des Hasler blow up, Gold Coast Titans; Phil Gould comments

Phil Gould has expressed his frustration with the presence of cameras in the dressing sheds after Des Hasler‘s blow up.

Hasler’s frustration boiled over with the Titans after a one-point loss to the Tigers.

The Titans coach was seen yelling at a number of players to get out of the showers while owner Rebecca Frizelle stood in front of him. Five players including David Fifita and Klese Haas emerged.

Hasler has been under huge pressure to keep his job at the club with Frizelle reportedly planning big changes.

Phil Gould believes the public shouldn’t have seen Des Hasler’s blow up.  Nine/Fox League

While Gould lauded the impact of television on selling rugby league, he believes the footage of Hasler shouldn’t be available.

“I’ve long been an advocate that the sanctity and privacy of the dressing room should be for the players and coaches, not for television cameras,” he said on Nine’s 100% Footy.

“I think cameras should be banned from the dressing rooms or at least be handheld cameras so they know the camera’s there.

“I don’t think this does Des, the game or anyone else any good and I don’t think it’s stuff for public consumption. I’m deadset against it.”

Hasler is yet to address the blow up and Gould believes he wouldn’t be too bothered.

“I don’t think Des would give two hoots but I don’t think it’s a good look for him or anyone,” he said.

“That’s just embarrasing for him and I don’t think it’s fair the public should get access to that.”
