The Baltimore Ravens are a great regular-season team.
Unfortunately, they’re not a great playoff team.
That’s why people put Lamar Jackson in the spotlight.
We’ve seen him dominate in the regular season year in and year out, and watching how his play and his numbers go down in the postseason has been utterly disappointing.
Nevertheless, Marlon Humphrey believes people aren’t fair to him.
Talking to Kevin Oestreicher, he defended Jackson and called out the critics for only focusing on him:
“I’ve always felt that it’s not equal across the board. There’s 31 QBs that did not win the Super Bowl. But there’s only 1 or 2 that get blamed…I feel like Lamar is always in that category,” he said.

That’s fair to a degree, but it’s not because people want to hate on Jackson.
If anything, it speaks volumes about the high standards he’s held to because he’s undeniably one of the best players in the league.
People always expect a lot from the best and the highest earners.
And after watching Jackson crush his opposition in the regular season, regardless of who’s in front of them, it only makes sense that they question why he can’t do the same in a win-or-go-home situation.
Unfortunately, all the MVPs and records aren’t as important or impressive as winning the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Lamar Jackson has already done enough to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and he could still go strong for another decade.
But at the end of the day, people will always remember him as a great regular-season player and for not winning the Super Bowl unless he finally gets over the hump.
Football might be a team sport, but ultimately, all fingers will point to the leader and best player.
