The teams announced Friday that the Avalanche have acquired Danil Gushchin from the Sharks in exchange for Oskar Olausson.
Gushchin, 23, split last season between the NHL and AHL, recording 51 points (28 goals and 23 assists) in 65 games with the San Jose Barracuda and adding one assist in 12 games with the Sharks.
Drafted 76th overall by San Jose in 2020, the Russian winger has appeared in 18 career NHL games, tallying two goals and three assists.
Olausson, 22, had 26 points (11 goals and 15 assists) in 61 games with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles in 2024–25.
The Stockholm native has played four NHL games for the Avalanche, spread across three seasons. He was drafted 28th overall by the club in 2021.
