A scheduled flyweight bout between Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira will no longer serve as this weekend’s UFC Fight Night main event.
The UFC announced Monday that Albazi has been removed from the card with an undisclosed injury and Taira will instead face undefeated Hyun Sung Park on the Aug. 2 card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Flyweights Tatsuro Taira and Hyun Sung Park headline the action as the UFC returns to the Apex in Las Vegas. Watch UFC Fight Night on Saturday, Aug. 2 on Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet+ with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
Taira is the No. 5-ranked contender in the men’s 125-pound division. The 25-year-old from Japan is 16-1 in mixed martial arts and coming off his first pro loss, a five-round split decision to Brandon Royval in an October main event that was named Fight of the Night.
Park had recently been booked to face Steve Erceg on the upcoming Aug. 9 Fight Night event at the Apex but will now compete one week earlier. The 10-0 pro has three wins at the UFC level, with all three coming by stoppage.
The 29-year-old from South Korea earned a rear-naked choke win against Seung Guk Choi in his debut in February 2023, stopped Shannon Ross with strikes in his second UFC bout in December 2023 and submitted Carlos Hernandez with a rear-naked choke in his most recent outing just two months ago.
All three of Park’s UFC appearances have been at the Apex.
It is unclear at this time who Erceg will face next week or if he will be rescheduled. The one-time flyweight title challenger was originally slated to face Alex Perez on Aug. 9 before Perez was replaced by Park.
The UFC also announced Rafael Estevam is replacing Andre Lima and will face Felipe Bunes in a flyweight bout at Saturday’s event. A featherweight bout between Francis Marshall and Austin Bashi was cancelled, with Marshall being removed from the card with an undisclosed injury. Torrez Finney is unable to take on Azamat Bekoev, so that middleweight matchup will no longer take place.
Bekoev has instead been added to the Oct. 18 Fight Night event in Vancouver, where he will face Yousri Belgaroui.
