The Dallas Cowboys‘ offense could look different this season.
On top of adding George Pickens to the mix, they also bolstered their less-than-impressive running back room.
While they allowed Rico Dowdle to leave and sign with the Carolina Panthers, they brought in some proven veterans to help that unit.
Even so, Jon Machota of The Athletic believes that rookie RB Jaydon Blue could take the primary role if he continues to impress in training camp (via JPA Football).

Blue has reportedly drawn some buzz over the past week or so.
Veteran newcomer Javonte Williams should be atop the depth chart, with Miles Sanders as his backup.
Nevertheless, Blue has reportedly taken some first-team reps away from him, and he’s done a great job of embracing the offense.
He’s a speedy and athletic running back with good hands for his position, and he looks like a legitimate dark horse to make some noise in Arlington.
It’s also worth noting that he’s a former Texas Longhorns star, so he should definitely have plenty of fans rooting for him to find success in the pros in the Lone Star state as well.
The Cowboys’ offense has always been better and more efficient when they’ve turned to the running game.
Dak Prescott is a reliable quarterback when he has a strong running game by his side, and not so much when he’s asked to do the heavy lifting, so don’t sleep on Blue, even if he’s not penciled in as the starter in Week 1.
