The Detroit Lions are adding depth to their roster.
They have a new tight end in the mix, but he’ll have a steep climb to make the final roster.
“Lions signed tight end Steven Stilianos of the San Antonio Brahmas. Sportsman of the Year nominee and former [Tennessee] Titans rookie free agent, per source,” Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston wrote on X.

He will try to be Detroit’s third-string tight end along with Zach Horton, Kenny Jeboah and Shane Zylstra.
Stilianos made 15 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown, and threw one pass, a 38-yard touchdown, for the Brahmas this season.
The spring football standout will be reunited with Lions star Sam LaPorta, who was his teammate at Iowa in 2022.
The Titans signed Stilianos as an undrafted free agent last season, but they cut him.
Stilianos is more known for his skills and contributions as a blocker than for his pass catching, and he understandably was behind LaPorta in college.
Yet, he can be a strong contributor to the running game because of that ability.
Also, perhaps LaPorta will put in a good word for him to make sure he gets a roster spot.
Then again, it looks like his chances of surviving the final cuts are slim at this point.
