Report: Saints re-sign Canadian defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd

Nathan Shepherd is staying in the Big Easy.

The New Orleans Saints have reportedly signed the Canadian defensive lineman to a one-year extension, per NFL Insider Josina Anderson.

Shepherd, who hails from Ajax, Ont., has found a home with New Orleans after five seasons with the Jets.

In two years in the black and gold, the 31-year-old has started 30 games and registered five sacks. Shepherd made only 12 starts with New York.

Shepherd wasn’t the only move the Saints made to address the defensive line, as they reportedly acquired Davon Godchaux from the Patriots in exchange for a seventh-round pick.
